Mars-bound genius tackles high school bucket list; hockey enforcer rewrites the code.

  1. Kara arrives with a departure date locked for Mars, treating homeroom and cafeteria politics as variables in a personal checklist she must clear before liftoff. Her models assume rational actors, but the hallway ecosystem runs on impulse, rumor, and shifting loyalties no algorithm can predict.

  2. Control shatters when a bruising hockey enforcer skates into her orbit. His reputation precedes him, yet his actions defy every behavioral forecast she has coded, turning her structured experiment into a collision course she cannot simulate.

  3. The mission clock ticks toward launch, but the data now screams that human connection follows no known physics. Staying on trajectory means abandoning the only anomaly that makes the countdown feel like something other than escape.

Stand-outs

  • A rocket scientist heroine who cannot engineer her own heart
  • Hockey violence meets orbital mechanics in a hallway showdown
  • Bucket-list deadline raises the stakes on every first time
