Anniversary betrayal costs Elara her hands; a duke heals them and her future.

  1. Master artificer Elara marks her anniversary by finding Darius tangled with a succubus. He obliterates the lone remedy for his fracturing soul and crushes the hands that built her reputation.

  2. Duke Karen intervenes, mending bone and nerve so Elara can work again. With mobility restored, she unmasks the succubus's lies and watches Darius succumb to the doom he chose.

  3. No longer bound to a husband who sacrificed her career for a demon, Elara turns toward Karen. A partnership forged in rescue now faces the ordinary work of building something lasting.
