Elara lost her howl, her land, and her name. Now the guard she chose holds her mother's pendant.

  1. Thirteen-year-old Elara bled on the Moonstone and the stone stayed dead, while Alpha Alaric's illegitimate daughter Sera lit up as heir. Pack healer Sable Vance had laced the altar with wolfsbane, and that night Elara's mother Selene found the proof before plummeting from North Cliff.

  2. Six months later, eleven-year-old Sera torched the granary, stealing Elara's voice and trapping her inside every full moon. Selene's willed hunting grounds passed to "Selene's daughter," yet the pack certified Elara as no daughter at all, letting Alaric administer the estate while proceeds vanished into Sable's accounts.

  3. Kade Ashford entered as a guard to repay the girl who saved him from wildfire, but he scented Sera wearing the moon cloak and marked her neck. Elara recognized her own mother's pendant on Kade's collar and named him her guard, while a neighboring Alpha hunts for Selene's daughter with a fabricated injury as cover.

Stand-outs

  • Wolfsbane sabotage on a sacred altar erases a bloodline in seconds
  • Arson by a child silences the only witness to a stolen melody
